Laundry. It is my nemesis.
IÂ am fairly good with everything else, but I just detest laundry. Actually, that isn’t true: I don’t mind washing a load, and I find something incredibly relaxing about hanging my laundry outside. I just hate folding and putting away!
I read a post from a wise, fellow mama-of-many, and she said that she turned a corner when she accepted that 2 loads of laundry a day was just a necessity. I thought about this and rejected it for a few months, but I recently decided to accept it. Something amazing has happened: My laundry isn’t so bad.
I’ve realized that I was trying to deny something that could not be denied. It was as if I wanted to pretend that gravity did not exist. It does not help to deny it, because the reality of it is still there whether you accept it or not. Just like with birth, life is so much easier and less painful if you accept it and just ride the waves. Fighting it only makes for frustration.
And, on that note, it is time to put another load in…

I feel the same way. I’m here ignoring the two loads of laundry that need to be put away. It’s not an easy thing to do since the kids threw it all over the floor looking for jammie bottoms last night. Thank goodness I’m not up to the two per day level yet. My laundry load will be increasing soon but I find diapers to be the easiest load of laundry to fold. Maybe it’s because Bohdin does it for me.

Diapers are easy for us too. I think it is because we use prefolds and I just throw them into a special wicker basket that holds diaper stuff. It is super easy.

Prefolds are definitely the best laundry wise. I don’t mind washing them. I can never explain to people that having a child in diapers is not difficult for me at all. In some ways it beats cleaning out the potty and the cries of “Wipe my butt!” which always happen when I’m making dinner. Or the 10 minute detour in the grocery store to the potty.

I agree completely!
One of my kids started using the potty really early, and I’ll never forget what a pain it was on long car rides or days out. Public restrooms are no fun at all, and peeing on the side of the highway is even worse!
