As I researched what went wrong I learned that none of it was my fault and that I was the victim of the standard hospital birthing system. Then I had tremendous anger issues with my midwife as well as flashbacks and revenge fantasies. I still have not forgiven her or the nurse present at my birth and I most likely never will but I have found peace and healing through the gentle homebirth of my second daughter. I felt a lot of shame and guilt after the birth of my first daughter.
