That is definitely the point of the book. That's why this chapter is called "Big Organic". The next entry is about some awesome sustainable "beyond organic" farms. I'm just not done yet, lol. I definitely don't think that all organic farmers are bad AT ALL, I'm just trying to work through the book with my comments, hehe. I promise I'll show the other side! ITA! I just want to point out that there are a lot of great actual small family farms in existence. they don't sell to whole foods, but there are farmers who raise chickens and cattle that are actually pastured and live decent lives. And some stores are honest in their advertising. I really have gained trust in our local coop. they do their homework about all their suppliers and seem to find the best options available. They stopped selling Horizon Organics a few years ago and published an article in the newsletter about why, and I've never seen anything from Cascadian in the store. I would just hate for anyone to think that all Organic farming is a crock. I think it's more like not all organic farms are equal, and big busines is usually big business, not real farming.
